System Footprinting

An adversary engages in active probing and exploration activities to determine security information about a remote target system. Often times adversaries will rely on remote applications that can be probed for system configurations.

CVE-2023-41313The authentication method in Apache Doris versions before 2.0.0 was vulnerable to timing attacks. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 2.0.0 + or 1.2.8, which fixes this issue.
CVE-2021-43298The code that performs password matching when using 'Basic' HTTP authentication does not use a constant-time memcmp and has no rate-limiting. This means that an unauthenticated network attacker can brute-force the HTTP basic password, byte-by-byte, by recording the webserver's response time until the unauthorized (401) response.
CVE-2021-21575 Dell BSAFE Micro Edition Suite, versions before 4.5.2, contain an Observable Timing Discrepancy Vulnerability.
CVE-2018-25350userSpice 4.3.24 contains a username enumeration vulnerability that allows unauthenticated attackers to discover valid usernames by sending POST requests to the existingUsernameCheck.php endpoint. Attackers can submit usernames and analyze response text for the 'taken' string to identify existing accounts in the system.
CVE-2026-33419MinIO is a high-performance object storage system. Prior to RELEASE.2026-03-17T21-25-16Z, MinIO AIStor's STS (Security Token Service) AssumeRoleWithLDAPIdentity endpoint is vulnerable to LDAP credential brute-forcing due to two combined weaknesses: (1) distinguishable error responses that enable username enumeration, and (2) absence of rate limiting on authentication attempts. An unauthenticated network attacker can enumerate valid LDAP usernames and then perform unlimited password guessing to obtain temporary AWS-style STS credentials, gaining access to the victim's S3 buckets and objects. This issue has been patched in RELEASE.2026-03-17T21-25-16Z.
CVE-2026-23519RustCrypto CMOV provides conditional move CPU intrinsics which are guaranteed on major platforms to execute in constant-time and not be rewritten as branches by the compiler. Prior to 0.4.4, the thumbv6m-none-eabi (Cortex M0, M0+ and M1) compiler emits non-constant time assembly when using cmovnz (portable version). This vulnerability is fixed in 0.4.4.
CVE-2025-5485User names used to access the web management interface are limited to the device identifier, which is a numerical identifier no more than 10 digits. A malicious actor can enumerate potential targets by incrementing or decrementing from known identifiers or through enumerating random digit sequences.
CVE-2024-47178basic-auth-connect is Connect's Basic Auth middleware in its own module. basic-auth-connect < 1.1.0 uses a timing-unsafe equality comparison that can leak timing information. This issue has been fixed in basic-auth-connect 1.1.0.
CVE-2024-42512Vulnerability in the OPC UA .NET Standard Stack before 1.5.374.158 allows an unauthorized attacker to bypass application authentication when the deprecated Basic128Rsa15 security policy is enabled.
CVE-2025-53940Quiet is an alternative to team chat apps like Slack, Discord, and Element that does not require trusting a central server or running one's own. In versions 6.1.0-alpha.4 and below, Quiet's API for backend/frontend communication was using an insecure, not constant-time comparison function for token verification. This allowed for a potential timing attack where an attacker would try different token values and observe tiny differences in the response time (wrong characters fail faster) to guess the whole token one character at a time. This is fixed in version 6.0.1.
CVE-2026-3337Observable timing discrepancy in AES-CCM decryption in AWS-LC allows an unauthenticated user to potentially determine authentication tag validity via timing analysis. The impacted implementations are through the EVP CIPHER API: EVP_aes_128_ccm, EVP_aes_192_ccm, and EVP_aes_256_ccm. Customers of AWS services do not need to take action. Applications using AWS-LC should upgrade to AWS-LC version 1.69.0.
CVE-2026-32935phpseclib is a PHP secure communications library. Projects using versions 0.1.1 through 1.0.26, 2.0.0 through 2.0.51, and 3.0.0 through 3.0.49 are vulnerable to a to padding oracle timing attack when using AES in CBC mode. This issue has been fixed in versions 1.0.27, 2.0.52 and 3.0.50.
CVE-2026-28464OpenClaw versions prior to 2026.2.12 use non-constant-time string comparison for hook token validation, allowing attackers to infer tokens through timing measurements. Remote attackers with network access to the hooks endpoint can exploit timing side-channels across multiple requests to gradually determine the authentication token.
CVE-2024-31074Observable timing discrepancy in some Intel(R) QAT Engine for OpenSSL software before version v1.6.1 may allow information disclosure via network access.
CVE-2026-47784In memcached before 1.6.42, password data for SASL password database authentication has a timing side channel because memcmp is used by sasl_server_userdb_checkpass.
